OnGuard Online: FTC Safety Tips - The government publishes a “Parent’s Guide” to social networking. More importantly, they have a reporting mechanism as well, for many types of problems encountered online.
Internet Crime Complaint Center - IC3's mission is to serve as a vehicle to receive, develop, and refer criminal complaints regarding the rapidly expanding arena of cyber crime. The IC3 gives the victims of cyber crime a convenient and easy-to-use reporting mechanism that alerts authorities of suspected criminal or civil violations. There are also links to the FBI, National White Collar Crime Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance on the home page.
National Crime Prevention Council - This government site has lots of information and resources for you on many crime prevention areas including cybercrime.
Their focus is on children being able to develop their own abilities to keep themselves safe when out in today’s world without Mom or Dad, especially teens online. They are experts in the PREVENTION arena of child safety filling the need for teaching kids how to recognize and avoid threatening or dangerous situations of any kind.
